Junior Developer

Deloitte was my first real industry experience as a software engineer. I learned so much over those nine months, and it really reinforced that software engineering is what I enjoy and what I'm meant to be doing.

I started test automation on my team, building a regression framework in Microsoft Playwright that grew past 400 end-to-end tests. Each one runs in about 3 minutes and replaces 20 to 40 minutes of manual testing, which sped up our release cycles and how quickly we caught regressions. After my placement, Deloitte set up a dedicated Test Automation team to carry the work on.

Alongside testing, I built full-stack enterprise features in C#, JavaScript, Blazor, KnockoutJS and CSS, and worked with SQL Server (through SSMS), Redis caching, and Azure DevOps for version control and sprint tracking. We worked in Agile Scrum, so daily stand-ups and sprint planning were part of every week.
